Class Dojo

This year, we’re using Class Dojo to build our classroom community. We aim to build a positive culture where students are engaged, encouraged and love learning. Class Dojo points will only be used for positive reinforcement. Every teacher will have the ability to allocate points to students when they are teaching a class.
All classroom communication will come though Class Dojo, so it is imperative that all families have signed up by Friday 8 February 2019. It is our collective aim to keep parents informed and as connected to the classroom as possible though this single avenue.
How we’ll use Class Dojo:
Teachers will:
- Post announcements, updates and reminders
- Shae photos and videos of classroom activities
- Send private messages to keep you in the loop.
Students will:
- Share classwork on their own digital portfolio
- Only family members will be able to view their work
Families can:
- Like or comment on class photos and videos
- Leave encouraging feedback. Just as teachers are only using Class Dojo for positive reinforcement, we would like your comments to reflect this as well.

In next week’s newsletter we will give details on how classes will be managing inappropriate behaviour.

Canteen News
Welcome back to our summer menu for Term 1 2019.
As we follow the Healthy Food and drinks policy and have worked closely with the WA canteen association over the holidays, a few changes have occurred on our menu. Pies and sausage rolls are amber foods and are only available now twice a week.
Please make sure you update your child/children’s class on the online School24 system when you log in to place your first order for the year.
We are in DESPERATE need for volunteers for Thursday and Fridays and special event days. There are no set times, whatever you can spare would be much appreciated. Even just serving at the busy recess time would be appreciated. The ongoing operation of the canteen relies heavily upon the assistance of volunteers to ensure it stays open. It would be great to see some new faces, so come in and enjoy a coffee and a chat and your children love to see you at the canteen. Please come past and have a chat with Anna.
Thank you very much
Anna Admans
Canteen Manager

Welcome Back
On behalf of the P&F we would like to welcome everyone back to school for 2019.
Your P&F have already been very busy behind the scenes working on our very first event for the year; Our Family Fun Night.
On Friday, 15 February (which is next week) the school oval will light up and be the host of the a gymbus, jumping castles, water slide and food truck. There will be a DJ, raffles, games, door prizes, face painting and loads of fun to be had!
You can either pre purchase some pizza and/or sushi, which we will arrange delivery, when you buy your ticket or you can bring your own picnic.
Pizza and sushi must be ordered no later then 4pm on Tuesday, 12 Feb – no exceptions unfortunately.
Event detail are on the school Facebook page or just go to this link where you can also purchase tickets: www.trybooking.com/BAKZP
As always, we would love some volunteers to help us on the night!
